Before You ShowWhat You Need To Know Before You Show:
Rider's Membership Card
If showing in Non Pro classes (including Rookie) you must obtain NRHA Non Pro status prior to showing. If showing in Youth classes you must have a Youth membership card. Important: NRHA requires Youth member birthdates to be on file.
Owner's Membership Card
If different from rider.
All horses entered in NRHA approved competition are required to have a competition license. NRHA competition license applications will be accepted at NRHA approved shows. If you have recently purchased a horse, please check with the previous owner or the NRHA Office. Your horse may already have a competition license and then a transfer must occur prior to showing.
Please note: If you renew your membership or purchase a competition license or transfer at the show, you will be charged a rush fee of $30. New NRHA members do not have to pay the rush fee. When applying at a show you will receive a temporary membership card or competition license that you are able to take to other shows with you until you receive the originals by mail.
NRHA eligibility for the various classes and divisions is updated at the end of each show year for both horses and riders and remains in force for the balance of the current show year. You can check current eligibility of individual horses (Novice class eligibility) and riders (Division eligibility) by logging into the Members Only section of the site or by calling the NRHA Office.
